Free identity theft with Passpack ?

Well not really … at least I hope not. I came across an interesting startup today: Passpack. It allows you to store all your passwords online in a super secure environment – so they claim.

I am not sure if hosting passwords online is a very good idea, but the concept resolves quite a few issues I had, especially when one use several computers and has a terrible short term memory like me.

Here’s what they claim to be: “Passpack.com isa Free Online Password Manager. Think of it as a password manager, automatic login and personal vault all in one. With Passpack you can quickly login to websites, as well as organize and store logins and private notes.”

The feedback is pretty impressive, with the big blogs embracing the startup and the overall consensus seems to be that the passwords are actually securely stored in a military grade kind of environment.

In case you are worried, there is always identity theft insurance
